Important School Safety Notification

October 15, 2025

Dear Parents,

In order to keep you informed, we are notifying you regarding an investigation into a video created off campus by a student that is threatening in nature. Upon further investigation by Columbia County School District Police, the video contained no direct threats to the school, students or staff, and the student responsible for the video has been held accountable according to the code of conduct. Though no threat was made, we felt it was best to notify you as the video is circulating on social media, causing some to be concerned.

Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we want to reassure our parents that we have taken every reporting precaution available to the appropriate legal authorities and have also provided consequences in accordance with the code of conduct.

Please remember that safety is a shared responsibility. As with students, we also want to encourage parents to immediately report suspicious activity to school administrators or the Columbia County School District Police, and refrain from further sharing on social media. Continuing to share content of this nature spreads fear and misinformation among our community, students and staff. We work closely with our parents to address their concerns surrounding safety, and we will continue to do so if and when allegations are brought to our attention. Remember, if you see something, say something. Working together we can continue to provide a safe, positive environment for students and staff.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. No further action is needed at this time.

Sincerely,
Melissa Culpepper
Principal
