Dear Parents,
The first-grade class field trip to EdVenture Children’s Museum in Columbia, S.C., has been canceled today until further notice. Law enforcement were present at the museum out of an abundance of caution in response to a threat made against a different location in the area. The incident was not connected to our school in any capacity, and students and staff remained on the bus before being turned around to return back to the school.
At this time, students are expected to arrive back to school at approximately 12:30 p.m., and will participate in learning for the remainder of the school day. No further action is needed and normal school operations will continue.
While our students and staff are safe, we felt it was best to notify you in the event your student has any concerns about the incident. More information regarding the field trip will be provided in the coming days.
