As a reminder, schools are closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In addition, we are actively monitoring possible inclement weather forecasts for our area in the days following.

The Columbia County School District would like to inform all parents of children living in Columbia County of the opportunity for a permissive transfer to eligible schools.

NHE students worked hard the first semester on their reading and math goals. You are invited to attend a data conversation, facilitated by your child, to learn about their growth and goals for their second semester. PreK, second grade, and fourth grade will be on Tuesday, February 4th. Kindergarten and first grade will be on Wednesday, February 5th. Third grade and fifth grade will be on Thursday, February 6th. This will take place from 8:10am - 8:45am on those dates.

Calling all Bullpups! We will be having Freezy Fridays throughout the year where your child can enjoy a treat from Dippin’ Dots during their recess or after lunch at school, choosing from four different flavors. You can choose to pay for one, multiple, or all year. Our next Freezy Friday will be this Friday, September 20th. Please make sure to complete the RevTrak payment. RevTrak must be completed in order for your child to receive their treat. You must complete the form by the end of the day Wednesday prior to that Friday in order to receive them. Thank you so much! Each year, the Columbia County School District encourages families to complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application to determine eligibility for receiving meals for reduced or no cost. For the 2024-2025 school year, the Georgia Department of Education is providing funding for students who qualify for reduced priced meals to eat at no cost.

Registration is now open for the 24-25 school year.

On Tuesday, December 10th, there will be grade-level holiday games and a chorus concert. The games are 5:30pm - 6:30pm, and the chorus concert will begin at 6:30pm.

Our Veterans Day Celebration will be on Friday, November 8th. PreK, 1st grade, and 5th grade will celebrate at 9:30am. Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 4th grade will celebrate at 1:45pm. A reception will be held in the gym after each performance to honor our veterans and their families.
